Dear Readers,
Well, today was very uneventful....which is a good thing. :) We just went to the park and only lasted 1 hour due to the unbearable heat. When we got back to the hotel we hit the pool for a few hours then crashed in the hotel room. Tomorrow marks the begging of our first full week of treatments (10) to be exact.
Tonight, Mike (Gloria's husband) and Bret my Husband skyped and the kids got to see and talk to their dads. We are hoping to see the guys fathers day weekend and IF they can come Friday morning they will be able to sit with the boys during their afternoon treatment, which I think would be great.
Until tomorrow.....Good night!

A Day at the Zoo
Dear Readers,
Today was our first day without having to go to the Center for treatment. Tanner said to me at the end of today, "Mom, we didn't go in the space ship today!" I told him that we only go during the week and NOT on saturday or sunday. Well, We tackled the "free" zoo today and it went rather well dispite the heat. We got some great pics of the animals and a few of the kids, this was a bit difficult because they didn't want to look at the camera and I thought you all wouldn't want to see a bunch of kids back sides. ::) We also discovered Kadin's dream play ground if you go to my facebook page you can see the worlds largest Tree house! After the zoo we went back to the hotel to cool off in the pool before dinner. I also got to have my first real break from the kids. Gloria and Karin let me do the Target and Aldi run. Yay!(yes, they have an Aldi!) I got back from shopping to be met by my sweet little boy (Kadin) with a smile and a kiss and I said, "Hi honey!" and he said, "Hi baby wolf pup!" Ok, so I guess mom and wolf pup is an honest mistake, the fact is he tried!

out of the mouth of babes!
Dear Readers,
Today started for me at 2:30am when Kadin woke up and decided to stay awake for the majority of the night! So we played a game of musical beds as Tanner and Ashtyn woke up and switched beds and Kadin kept going back and forth. Kadin went through the room to turn on lights and he just seemed happy as could be. I was so tired and NOT happy. On top of it all our AC was not working and I forgot to bring a fan, the room got really warm and probably was the reason for Kadin waking up. I finally got Kadin to lay beside me in bed when all of a sudden the AC kicked on and Kadin sat straight up in bed and turned his head in the direction of the noise and said, "what's that?!" I was so shocked by this because normally anything or any sounds could be going on around Kadin and he seems not to notice. I replied, now happy, that was the AC honey." I have not heard Kadin use expressive language like this before and he responded so quickly after he heard the sound. Our morning session went well, Kadin fussed a bit but I think it was because he was tired and when he is tired he has less of a tolerance to everything. Our Afternoon session went really good to and I got a few more chapters in my book read. After we got back we went to the pool and The kids played till dinner time. I have to say I was completely wiped out by dinner time. Running on almost no sleep while the kids seem to be running on Energizer batteries. Looking forward to my bed and a weekend with no treatments, maybe tomorrow we can relax a bit and just enjoy each other!

Never a dull moment
Dear Readers,
This morning session went really well, I found out we can use our cell phones in the chamber so I called my mom to let her know how we were doing. I also felt like I had my act together as far as stuff goes to entertain the boys while we passed away the hour.
Here was my check list:
1 fully loaded I-Pod....check
1 magna doodle .......check
cell phone..........check
note book and pen......check
2 DVD for video players.......check
Well as prepared as I thought I was I didn't bring two mayor things...wipes and pull -ups for any unfortunate accidents. Can you guess what I am going to write next? Well "Old Faithful (Kadin) irrupted 1 1/2 min. before our session was done. Of course they can't just open the door due to the cabin pressure, so needless to say we were trapped in a stink bomb capsule for about 10 min.
Kadin got to the center fully clothed and left with a t-shirt and pull up.
He sure has his way of putting his stamp on every situation.
We got back to the Hotel around 10am just in time to meet the deputies from Dane county. Since Tanner and Kadin are in the program "Project Lifesaver" they are over seeing their stay and will respond to any 911 calls while we are visiting WI. They also wanted to check their equipment on the boys locating devices to make sure they worked properly.
Second session was at 1:45pm
This was treatment #4 and when we arrived and were getting settled and ready to enter the blue tanks I asked the Dr. "IS it possible to see some positive results as soon a 3 sessions?" He laughed and said, "I was just going to ask you if you have seen anything yet in the boys." I told him that I felt like Something good was going on with Kadin but I chocked it up to wishful thinking. He told me people usually think that in the beginning but if i could keep a journal about little changes I see as we go through the 40 treatments that in the end I would see it was indeed a result of the treatment. One example of something is while we were in the tank this afternoon, I got Kadin to look at me in my eyes and I said, "I love you so much!" and without turning away Kadin said right back, "I love you so much!" and there was a point in the chamber that Tanner and Kadin locked eyes and it seemed to me that Kadin was truly looking at Tanner and Tanner said, "Hi Kadin and with out looking away from Tanner Kadin said, "Hi Tanner" Tanner then proceeded to open his mouth and say ooooooooh and Kadin smiled and imitate him and for a brief moment they were enjoying a back and forth game together. I also showed Kadin a picture of Bret and right away his face changed to excitement and he said, "Hi DAD!" Then he followed it with "Bye Dad!" I was fighting back tears a few times today and trying to stay focused and just get through the treatments and see what may come. So far I think we will be seeing Great things! I can't help but continue to thank God for this opportunity. Keep the prayers coming and I will keep sharing our blessings with you all.
P.S. In case any of you are wondering what 100% Oxygen smells like, Tanner said when asked, "Well, it smells like flowers!" :)

I think the hardest part is behind us!
Dear Readers,
Well today was an experience, our first treatment was at 10:15am at the Center. The boys were troopers, we were told that the first treatment is the worst and that it would affect our ears more so than the treatments to come. This was an UNDERSTATEMENT! I was put in the Big Blue Tank with the boys and they each had a plastic hood over their head. The only way I can explain the feeling is that it is like descending in a airplane and you have a horrible ear ache. I thought I was going to scream! Both the boys were crying and I thought this is hell! All I could do was keep Kadin from pulling out the Oxygen tubes. After about 15min. it started to get better. I was sure glad when that session ended. The boys ears seemed to go back to normal but I had to run to Target to get some sudafedrin, my ears didn't feel normal for about 3 hours after the treatment. Our afternoon session at 3:45pm was 10,000 times better. Turns out they were right, the first session was the worst and we are told that from here on out they will only get easier to tolerate. Kadin and Tanner were actually laughing and laying down to rest in our second session. I was so re-leaved that this session went so well and I am looking forward to the days ahead.

I think I need a 5 hour boost!
Dear Readers,
So much to do before we take off this afternoon! Just finishing packing and then I going to put on my cleaning lady hat and get this place in shape, I just hate leaving my house messy when we go on trips. Boys are at their last day of school and we hope to leave soon after they get home. However, if Kadin can get his foot in the door for 15 min. this house will be turned upside down again. oh well, at least I will have tried. :) I am hoping to update the blog every evening around 9pm after the kids are down for bed. Feel free to ask any questions or post comments along the way it will only make the blogs more interesting. next time I write it will be from Wisconsin.

Getting ready to embark on a new adventure!
Dear Readers,
Well, today is Thrusday and I am trying to wrap up all the loose ends before our trip. Thinking of being in a hotel room for 4 weeks is giving me a slight panic attack, but I think the excitement of trying this new treatment with the boys trumps all. At this point any improvment for Kadin will be welcomed! I thank God that he has granted us this opportunity.
